Stop the presses: Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo is going to be a movie!

This morning Entertainment Weekly broke the news that DreamWorks, the studio behind Cowboys & Aliens, I am Number Four, and The Help, has secured film rights for the fantasy debut. Not only that, but David Heyman, who worked on a little franchise called HARRY FREAKING POTTER is producing. You might have heard of it.

We think EW summed it up nicely:

…although every studio would like to grab a fresh YA book series in the hope that it can be turned into the next Harry Potter-style film franchise, not every film has the actual producer of the Potter movies overseeing it.

Shadow and Bone would be the exception.
